Harold Holmes, a leading local businessman and member of the Rotary Club of Rotorua for many years, was passionate about Rotorua and its people. In 1991 he created the Student Grant which awards a scholarship each year to a local high school student to assist with the cost of their tertiary studies.
The Harold Holmes Student Grant has been presented to deserving year 13 students in the Rotorua community for over 30 years.
Attendees at the recent award presentation were left inspired by Molly’s story, overcoming many challenges throughout her life, to achieve what was thought to be impossible.
Molly is attending Waikato University this year and will use this grant to help fund her studies.
