The Tindall Foundation Funding

The Tindall Foundation Funding Round

Applications open 1 March 2026 and close 31 March 2026

The Tindall Foundation has a unique model whereby Local Donation Managers distribute donations on their behalf in their local communities. As a Local Donation Manager, Geyser Community Foundation distributes donations to projects that support The Tindall Foundation’s Family / Whanau focus area in the Rotorua and Taupō Districts, including Tūrangi, Mangakino and Murupara.

Important Dates

Applications open: 1 March 2026
Applications close: Midnight 31 March 2026
Review and decision-making: April / May
Notification of decisions: May / June
Grant payment: By the end of July
Reporting due: 31 January 2027

Who can apply?

Local community organisations who deliver projects or services in the Rotorua and Taupō districts that align with the following Tindall Foundation Family/Whānau Priorities:

  • Early Years
  • Youth Development
  • Family / Whānau Wellbeing
  • Community


Rotorua and Taupō Districts include Reporoa, Mangakino, Murupara, Minginui, Kaingaroa and Tūrangi.

The Tindall Foundation supports initiatives that are:

  • Grassroots, community based
  • Put whānau/families at the centre
  • Work holistically/provide wraparound support
  • Collaborative and focus on long-term solutions
  • Support kaupapa Māori models of practice

Tindall Foundation is unable to support the following:

  • Core or public health services
  • Core education or Scholarships
  • Research
  • Sport, leisure and recreation
  • The arts
  • Overseas organisations or projects
  • Buildings, land or purchase of capital assets
  • Individuals
  • Sponsorships, Loans, Endowment funds
  • Religious or Political advocacy
  • Retrospective claims
  • Venture Capital initiatives
  • Animal Charities
