This year, 20 local charities shared gifts totaling $49,800 from the Rotorua Community Fund proudly managed by the Geyser Community Foundation.
Chair of Geyser’s Distribution Advisory Committee, Ann Nicholas said the Rotorua Community Fund is made up of donations and gifts from individuals, families and businesses who are helping grow a permanent legacy for the benefit of our local community.
“Geyser is all about forever funding and we are in it for the long haul. We invest and grow donations so the interest they earn can benefit local causes year on year, forever.
“You don’t have to be wealthy to have an impact. Whether it’s a large or small gift, a one-off or regular contribution, all giving makes a difference through Geyser.
“Our smarter giving model allows people’s giving to have benefits that last forever.
“Of course, we would like to be in a position to be able to give back and support many more local charities and community groups; the more quickly people give, the faster funds become available to give back to the Rotorua community.”
Applications seeking a total of $129,920 were received this year.
